How to balance the equation?

Among all the news covered about the celebrations of the people for the murders done by the cops in Telangana, I wonder why it has been done? And what else could be done?

Whatever be the punishment it should be given by the legal system ! If a law is created then it is equal for all invariably! People should trust the rule of law that it will serve justice to them. But this act of encountering the accused before they were proved guilty shows that the legal system is incapable of serving justice.

Is this act balanced?

We see people welcoming the move but I question is the move equal to all offenders?

Here the accused were very backwards and that is why the police killed them easily, could they do it everywhere? If yes why didn't they do it in Pollachi gang rape issue and Unnao rape and murder issue?

We hear the police neglecting an attempt rape case from a victim saying "come after you were raped". Now the problem is the enforcement of the law! In the Disha case, the police first refused the file FIR siting jurisdiction as a reason without even knowing about the "Zero FIR"

Is the human rights commission right?

The human rights commission (NHRC) took suo-motto against the police who encountered the accused. But what did it do against the rapist who brutally raped and murdered a woman? The functions of NHRC is to see govt doesn't violate the human rights of the citizens but who will ask if a citizen violates the rights of others?

Getting rid of this

How shall we end the women abuse in the country? Shall we put fear among the people? Should we give capital punishment? Teach a male child? Create a law?

Should capital punishment be given is debatable. My opinion is it should not be because every liberated country in the west doesn't give capital punishment but how they get rid of this crime? There are many facts that save women abroad. A report says good lighting conditions in the streets of a State reduces the crime rate! So we should work on that aspect, not on the barbarous side!

People should be educated especially the youth. They should respect men and women and their feelings too.

The solution is liberating and rationalising the people!

Creating strong and violent laws to stop heinous crimes is so barbarous. We should take the opposite side of educating people, creating a safe environment for women eg: Kavalan - SOS App ( cops arrive in 5 mins of your call )

Ensuring Growth through Reforms

The world is juggling between economic slowdown and containing the spread of COVID-19, so as India. The previous 21 days lockdown has been extended for 18 more days with a hint of relaxation after April 20th. Does this lockdown help India in containing the virus spread but what would be the aftermath? What would be the situation of the Indian economy? I came across a couple of editorials discussing that the pandemic situation which can be used as a chance to reform the country’s economic policies. And also the authors of those editorials analysed that India would make reformative measures to the economy only when the country faces some crisis (like 1991 economic reform). So this is the time for our policymakers to reform our economic policy and ensure our country overcome the economic slowdown. Inflation and Growth The NDA government is very keen on controlling the inflation within the 4% target by 2021. But as far as the growth is concerned in a developing country  inflation contr...

Liquor shops in India – Celebrated Glory or Shameful Dishonor?

Due to the nationwide lock-down from March 25, all the economic activities are shut down except for the essential services. Since liquor doesn’t come under essential needs liquor shops have also been closed. Though the pandemic situation is still in persistence, the government has allowed the shops to sell liquor. From then there are so many controversies and debates happening for and against the liquor ban. And the people are also agitating against the opening of liquor shops. So, here we will discuss, whether the country really needs a liquor ban or not, along with other associated aspects. Rights come first Though opening liquor shops during this severe pandemic situation is totally irrational and highly condemnable, I differ in the idea of a complete ban on liquor.  The state cannot interfere or coerce its ideologies to the citizens.  It is the right of people to choose their food or drink . People who don’t eat beef would raise voice to ban cow slaughter and who don’t dri...
